EG Newsletter 8/9/07

For those of you not on our email list, here is what you missed.

Hi, everyone:

I b'lieve the thermo has eclipsed 100 today--warmish, yo. Cool, though, up in here at the shop and free air conditioning is available with every visit. If the blues cools you off it's an especially good time to visit. We just bought a fantastic collection of crucial blues discs--was about a hundred of 'em but the inventory is dropping. Chess, Delmark, Fat Possum, Arhoolie and some other labels; Burnside, Kimbrough, Muddy, Howlin' Wolf, Elmore James, Big Joe Williams, the Chess Blues 4-disc box, all of them in mint condition. Priced cheap. Hurry. The government should call used CD shops to find out about the economy--people selling the quantities of used stuff like they've been doing the last couple of weeks has to be a leading indicator of something. Man. Just tons of great stuff and what some people have given up is a major find for others, hopefully some of y'all. Come in and look all this stuff over. We are packed.

The new releases are summer-weight once again this week though a number are of of interest--Okkervil River, Brunettes, Magnolia Electric box, Peter Case, Zap Mama. Full list is on the blog: http://www.ellagurucds.blogspot.com.

Running back to the back of the store to turn down the AC another degree just for y'all. I'd come over to your house if I could but I got the all-day duty today. You have to fly, but if you do there'll be good stuff for you to buy. We're open 'til 9 as we are Monday thru Saturday. We're open 12-6 Sundays. Thanks for your biz and we'll see you as soon as you get here. Thanks.
